West Virginia legislators are starting to understand the power and presence of social media and that social media is a utility of leadership. Social media for politicians is more than the new bully pulpit; it is important during times of community need as we saw during the devastating 2016 floods. To be effective, it must be learned, leveraged and practiced.

The 2017 Mixxed Media Report looks at our State Senators Shelley Moore Capito and Joe Manchin, Speaker of the House Tim Armstead, and Senate President Mitch Carmichael as well as our House representatives. We believe these leaders should be setting the bar for social media engagement.
